As would be expected, the research interests of CHED staff are, in the main, focused on understanding and improving key aspects of learning and teaching in higher education.

CHED\'s research aims are

1. To undertake research of high quality addressing critical concerns in higher education, at an institutional (UCT), local (Western Cape), national and international level
2. To facilitate and promote research-led educational development
3. To disseminate CHED research and to encourage critical debate
4. To build and enhance the capacity of CHED staff to produce excellent research
5. To establish a viable and sustainable funding base for CHED research
