The Centre for Educational Technology (CET) uses educational technologies to support teaching and learning at UCT. The centre provides specialist educational technology expertise in the continual improvement of the quality of higher education through widening access, promoting equity, integrating technologies with curriculum development, and researching effective practice.

CET uses educational technologies to support UCT's vision of being an outstanding teaching and research university, educating for life and addressing the challenges facing our society. The centre promotes, enables, develops, investigates and evaluates pedagogically effective, innovative and transformative uses of ICTs for teaching and learning in higher education, especially at UCT.

Areas of study
The Centre for Educational Technology (CET) works in four interlinked areas:
- Staff development: CET runs workshops and seminars with and for UCT academics regarding teaching with technology. Contact Tony Carr.
- Curriculum and resources development: CET works with academics to create online curriculum resources. Contact Glenda Cox.
- Learning technologies development: CET develops and supports online teaching and learning tools and environments. Contact Stephen Marquard.
- Research: CET researches the use of ICTs for teaching and learning. Contact Dick Ng'ambi.
In addition CET teaches on and co-convenes the Master's in ICTs (Education) with the School of Education.
