Ms van Schoor, a Life Sciences teacher from The Centre of Science and Technology (COSAT) and Mr Kuate, a mathematics teacher from Toli High School, were joint recipients of this year's Stella Clark Teachers' award.
“Gay has been my pillar of strength”, heartfelt words from the acting dean of CHED, Associate Professor Mbulungeni Madiba as he expressed his sadness at the impending leave of Gay Tyler, human resources practitioner at CHED.

As by Fire – The End of the South African University is one of a number of recent books that set out to make sense of the current crisis in South African universities."

CHED’s mission and vision are reflected in a wide range of services which recognize two important realities about UCT’s students: Firstly, they are amazing, being some of the most talented and academically capable students in the country and from across the continent. Secondly, many of these very same students arrive at UCT, against great odds given the ongoing legacy of unequal provision of education. By providing ‘enabling pathways’ for students to flourish and contribute to UCT’s excellence, CHED realises its commitment to social justice and transformation that underpins all its work.
