01 Feb - 02 Mar Teaching with Sakai Innovation award (TWSIA)(Deadline: 2 March) Every year Sakai (The Open source platform on which Vula is based) present a TWSIA award. If you win the award you will be flown to the next Sakai conference in Atlanta in June. http://www.openedpractices.org/twsia
The intent of the award is to recognise excellence in teaching and learning. If you use Vula extensively in your teaching or you use some of Vula’s tools in innovative ways then you should consider applying for this award. All the details are on the site.

02 Feb Research Seminar - Scamping as literacy practice: how drawing is used to conceptualise and communicate design ideas in Graphic Design Lynn Coleman who is in Cape Town to collect data for the PhD she is working on at the Open University. Lynn completed the HES Masters with Lucia and Suellen as supervisors. The title of her presentation is: "Scamping as literacy practice: how drawing is used to conceptualise and communicate design ideas in Graphic Design".
